Anubis

Age: 19
Pronouns: She/Her (In drag) He/Him (Out of drag)
Hometown: Brighton

Describing their drag as “campy and wacky…silly and rather fun”, Anubis is ready to serve you “gymnastics, live vocals, lots of jazz and musical theatre.” – which sounds like a fun time to us! Named after their Egyptian background, this queen is firmly here to snatch the crown after just two and a half years in drag, hoping to “resonate with someone too, and be someone’s Sasha Velour or Bob The Drag Queen.” Have we got a winner on our hands?

Why should Anubis take the crown? – “I’ve got the vocals, I got the dance moves, I got the comedy… so I really think I’m a bit of a threat!”

Choriza May

Age: 30
Pronouns: She/Her (In drag) He/Him (Out of drag)
Hometown: Newcastle/Valencia

“Newcastle’s spiciest, meatiest and silliest sausage” and local legend Choriza May is here to bring some camp joy, describing herself as “a storyteller so I use puppets, live singing, a bit of dancing, projection, spoken word and lip-syncing”. Her drag debut came after she realized that ” there were so many artistic things that, as a boy, I didn’t dare to do, but then I realised I didn’t have to fit a standard” Choriza won Drag Idol 2019 very soon after arriving on the scene and making the audience fall in love. Are we going to be basking in the Spanish glory?

Why should Choriza take the crown? – “I’m passionate and unique, and I bring a bit of fresh air to the competition.”

Charity Kase

Age: 24
Pronouns: She/Her (In drag) He/Him (Out of drag)
Hometown: Lancashire

Coming into the competition with a “a reputation for really outlandish crazy looks”, Charity is here to “play on the darkness in beauty, break beauty stereotypes and create a fantasy from another dimension”. At a typical show you should expect “shock, horror, gore, glamour and maybe a little bit of vomit” – something we haven’t seen on Drag Race UK so far. Can this “massive fantasy sci-fi nerd” known for their ability to “transform the grotesque to glamorous” unlock the achievement of winning this season?

Why should Charity take the crown? – “Welcome to alternative drag ! I am pushing the boundaries drag and I’m opening people’s eyes up to a whole new art form of transformation. I am scary, hairy and a total fairy!”

Elektra Fence

Age: 29
Pronouns: She/Her (In drag) He/Him (Out of drag)
Hometown: Burnley, Lancashire

The self-described “Pocket Rocket of drag” Elektra is here to “shock people” using their “killer dance moves” and bring you “camp meets glam with a bit of low-fashion thrown in for good measure.” At her brunches you can expect to have seen her “drop from the sky down into the splits, bounced into a headstand, span around, leapt on to the bar, and leapt of it in to the splits”, sounds like a wild time to us! Are you ready for “Pamela Anderson on the school run” and will she shock to the top?

Why should Elektra take the Crown? – “I should be the UK’s Next Drag Race Superstar because I don’t just want to be the best, I want to inspire others to be their best. Pass me the crown, Mama Ru. I feel like this is my time.”

Ella Vaday

Age: 32
Pronouns: She/Her (In drag) He/Him (Out of drag)
Hometown: Dagenham, Essex

Are you ready for the “drag Beast from the East”? Ella is here to serve you “yummy mummy – a bit garish, a bit classy, a bit Essex-y.” A singing and dancing queen who also loves “being cheeky, taking the mick, and being a bit sarky” we’re anticipating a lot of personality from this trained actor/dancer. Her drag is “two fingers up to everyone who has ever told me I must look like a leading man” and we can’t wait to see it.

Why should Ella take the Crown? – “I’m bringing all the skills that I’ve gained for the last 14 years. This competition is testing everything I’ve ever learned. In the short time that I’ve been doing drag, I’ve really pushed myself. I don’t do things by halves.”

Kitty Scott-Claus

Age: 29
Pronouns: She/Her (In drag) He/Him (Out of drag)
Hometown: Birmingham

In her own words “there ain’t no party if Kitty’s not there darlin’” so we’re excited to see what this “all singing, all dancing” diva is going to bring. At one of her shows, Kitty described the experience as “a busty blonde bubbly night and it will be fabulous… filled with all the prosexy in the world”, like the kind of boozy brunch we all need right now. She may not be “the kind of gal who can construct a couture garment from scratch” but can she claw her way right to the top?

Why should Kitty take the Crown? – “I am the future of British drag. I am silly and camp and have everything that old school drag was, but I have the modern edge. I’m the whole package.”

Krystal Versace

Age: 19
Pronouns: She/Her (In drag) He/Him (Out of drag)
Hometown: Kent

Krystal straight off the bat has claimed herself as the “Sex Goddess” this season, letting us know she is “the ultimate moment” and describing her aesthetic as “high, feminine glam”. With her friends nicknaming her a “flying squirrel” on stage, we’re totally here for the “high kicks, flips, cartwheels” and much more that this queen has to offer. Can this “never fully satisfied” perfectionist use her motivation as a strength and rise to the top?

Why should Krystal take the crown? – “I’m different. I’m refreshing. I bring a new fire to drag!”

River Medway

Age: 22
Pronouns: She/Her (In drag) He/Him (Out of drag)
Hometown: Kent

She’s “50% white British, 50% Singaporean and 100% a Cross dresser” – Miss River Medway is bringing you a “camp, feel good and shallow” vibe this season. Not here to be just be “looked at, like a model”, this queen is all about creating “connection with an audience member” using her live vocals and theatrics. She’s “never worn a wig styled by someone else” and says she’s fully here to “strut on that runway and show everyone what I can do.” We feel like we’re about to get some feisty moments but does this River lead to the final?

Why should River take the crown? – “If you don’t like it, that’s not my problem babe!”

Scarlett Harlett

Age: 26
Pronouns: She/Her (In drag) He/Him (Out of drag)
Hometown: East London

When a queen says she’s “like Danny Dyer in drag” due to being “a glamorous diva and when she
talks she’s a proper mouthy, cheeky cockney” we are immediately intrigued to say the least. Scarlett has been doing drag for 8 years now and says that “East London queens have been on the show before, but not like this” so naturally there’s a sense of curiosity in the air. Listing her influences as “Joan Rivers, Barbara Streisand and Shirley Bassey” she described herself as “an old codger” on the inside but loves “making people laugh, and being silly”. Could a mix of old school with a young face be the perfect combination?

Why should Scarlett take the crown? – “Representation really does matter to me. I have come from nothing. I grew up on a council estate and I feel so proud to have landed myself in one of the biggest shows in the UK right now. I want people to know you can make a banquet out of scraps. I am doing this for the Isle of Dogs!”

Vanity Milan

Age: 29
Pronouns: She/Her (In drag) He/Him (Out of drag)
Hometown: South London

Here to serve you “unapologetic blackness”, Vanity claims to be that classic recipe of “sugar, spice and everything nice” while also being “sophisticated, sexy and savage” – we love it. Though she only began drag in 2019, she won local competition “The Crown” and says she’s “gone from 0 to 100 real quick”. Though she does mentioned she “can serve looks, do comedy, sing and dance”, Vanity sees her career as “ever-evolving” and claims to be very versatile (who doesn’t love a vers queen?). Will she play the role of top in the competition though?

Why should Vanity take the crown? – “I’m nice and I’m real. I always work hard. If I fail, I try and try again, and if I put my mind to it, I can do anything. I’ve worked really hard to be here, and my eye is on the prize ….”

Veronica Green

Age: 35
Pronouns: She/Her (In drag) He/Him (Out of drag)
Hometown: Rochdale, Lancashire

You may recognize Veronica from season 2 “but if you don’t – where have you been?!”. That’s right, she cashed in her open invitation after she “gagged the world and gave them all rat bite fever” but unfortunately had to tap out due to the C word. She’s “looking forward to getting back on track and getting back into the competition” and this multi-talented “triple-threat” (as the judges called her) “will not be taken by surprise by an improv challenge again!”. After a full recovery, can she rise straight to the top with this second chance?

Why should Veronica be crowned? – “Am I going to win?! Does the pope shit in the woods?! I was SUPPOSED to win Drag Race UK season two. And if you don’t crown me this time Ru, I’m going to come back again. Another variant of Veronica Green… I’m not joking. Just keep bringing me back.

I’ve proved that I’m a heavy weight contender. The judges described me as a triple threat on series 2, and I’ve already won a badge! I’ve kept it in a box on my window sill at home so that I wake up to it every morning!

Victoria Scone

Age: 27
Pronouns: She/Her (In drag) She/Her (Out of drag)
Hometown: Cardiff

The “camp, Cardiff, cabaret, disco diva, with a lot of spunk” is here to make herstory as the first cis-female on the show, say hello to Victoria Scone. Inspired by “traditional drag, pantomime, and the older Welsh queens” we should be expecting “the whole entertainment package” from this queen of vocals, she does “identify as a Tony Award” after all!. Casting aside the label of “AFAB Queen” (assigned female at birth), will this tasty Welsh treat be blessed with the label of Series 3 winner instead?

Why should Victoria take the crown? – I should win RuPaul’s Drag Race UK because it’s so important, not just for me, but for marginalised minority groups in the queer scene to see themselves reflected on TV. We can absolutely have a seat at this table. I didn’t build the table (despite being very butch and very good at DIY) but I deserve a space at it. Everyone deserves a space. I wanted to do Drag Race to prove that I can win it. I’m not a fragile, little flower darling. I can have them all for supper!

Now isn’t that just a super fun cast?! We’ve got ourselves a great mash-up of comedy, fashion, dancing, signing, old school and new school with some long overdue representation thrown for good measure!

If that’s not enough for you, why not head over to BBC iPlayer where you can watch “Meet the Queens” for a more up close and personal look at the queens.

Season three promises to be high energy, full of drama, fashionable AF and totally gag-worthy, safe to say we’re here for it.

Coming this September to the BBC – Start your Engines and may the best drag queen, win!
