What do you get when you cross drag with 80’s neon glam and a little bit of horror? Let us show you….
GURL: First things first; introductions, who the hell are ya?
Clare: I’m Clare Successfully, a technicolor trash queen from Glasgow in Scotland! I do a range of drag from artsy pieces to 80s glam. Queen of the shell suit.
GURL: How long have you been performing?
Clare: I’ve been performing for just over 2 years – I started in a competition towards the end of 2017. Shoutout to Trigger at AXM.
GURL: What’s been your favourite performance so far?
Clare: I recently got to do my debut at a show in Edinburgh called Tracks and the atmosphere was so refreshing, fun and positive so I really thrived on that stage.
GURL: Yaaaas Kylie, congrats on the debut baby!
GURL: Show us one of your most fabulous looks?
Clare: This one recently was one of my favourites as I’ve started to make more of my stuff by myself. As well as some chaps, I made this harness out of bath mats from ASDA’s home section. Photo credit: Simon Crawford

GURL: Well damn that’s sexy, like a glam biker! (Also living for the fact you used bath mats for a harness!)
GURL: Who are your biggest idols?
Clare: Vander Von Odd. Tracy Barlow. The sweaty middle-aged guys on grindr who respond to my taps.
GURL: Tell us something absolutely random about yourself?
Clare: I have a genetic condition that makes me have sneezing fits when my stomach is full. I’ve been on a first date at a restaurant and snotted down my arm at the end.
GURL: Well ain’t that just sexy as hell, we hope the rest of the date went well.
GURL: Any advice for someone wanting to embrace the art of drag?
Clare: Don’t just feel like you have to do what you see on TV. Drag can be anything you want, and experimenting will be both creatively fulfilling and help you stand out. Also, in highlight of recent drama in Scotland (Drag performers have drama? Who knew!) always feel free to discuss your pay with other performers. Never let a show host tell you not to.
GURL: It’s definitely important to embrace your own creativity and brand rather than feeling the need to live up to someone else. Oh and definitely don’t be shy when it comes to discussing pay.
GURL: One song to be your anthem, go!
Clare: Because I’m up to date and down with the gays, I’m going with Kinky by Kesha ft. Ke$ha
GURL: Honestly Kesha ft. her old self is a mood af!
GURL: If you had to recommend us a fellow fierce entertainer, who should we hit up?
Clare:: Havana Meltdown, the true winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK. She live tweeted the whole thing. Excellence.
GURL: Well there’s a twitter page we will be following right away!
GURL: Finally, what’s your fave design from our collection?
Clare: Support Newcastle Drag! Shoutout to Ivy – miss you!

GURL: Omg yaaas we love Ivy <3
